First of all, my major is physical education and i will be teaching in 11th grade. there are 2 topics that i will be giving to 11th graders, the first one is about FITT , F for fit, i for intensity, T for type and finally T for time and health related to fitness. then the second topic that i will be teaching is about fitness in the community.
for 12 grade they had a project for the PE subject which was folk dance and all class 12 participated in the project, in each class will be divided into 3 groups with each folk dance and each group consists of 10-13 people and each group member has their own role.
I will introduce our CTE which is Sir christian jhul gabriano, he is a PE teacher at UIC for grade 11 and 12 or senior highschool and he is a cheers dance coach with a group name "peps squad". he has a very good personality, he is very friendly and often gives feedback to his students and to me as an intern student. He has a very good personality, he is very friendly and often gives input to his students and to me as an interns student. and the interesting fact is that he just officially became a teacher in June, then he has accepted the CTE assignment for me who will guide and provide input when I teach high school students.
this is my schedule for teaching and observing class in senior highschool, and there is 21 class total for grade 11 and 12.
In each class session, they have a 1-hour learning time.
For the 12th grade, they will have a folk dance practice in the gymnasium. They have to walk approximately 5 minutes from their original classroom to the gymnasium. Once they arrive at the gymnasium, they will have a 30-minute practice session. After that, as the teacher, I will give them 15 minutes to showcase their learning outcomes for the day, with the aim of observing their learning process.
For the 11th grade, at the beginning of the class, I usually start with a prayer before learning. Then, I will review the previous week's topics and connect them to the topic I will present that day. After that, I begin teaching the new topic and provide some example cases for them to solve. Once the material delivery is complete, at the end of the class session, I usually conduct a reflection by asking the students what they have gained from the learning topic for the day
CURRICULUM
Teachers at UIC High School participated in a "Curricular Visioning and Benchmarking" workshop, which focused on teachers as curriculum leaders, in order to initiate the K–12 program.
TEACHING PLAN
My learning plan for that time will be to discuss the topic of "Fitness in the Community." This is new for me because I must include several critical topics such as transfer goals, essential questions, integration, and others that I believe differ from the lesson plans I used in my native country.
Here's an example of a lesson plan I made:
